4 Overpowered Yet Easy-to-Master Hunters in Identity V: Climb Ranks Effortlessly!

Time: 2025-10-31 13:42:30

Fellow Players, have you been driven crazy by operation-heavy Hunters like Opera Singer and Broken Wheel lately? Don’t panic! Today, we’re here to recommend 4 Hunters that boast top-tier strength while being super easy to pick up. Master them, and you’ll secure four eliminations effortlessly—saying goodbye to the “Hunter Hardship Club” for good!

Pro Tip:

This recommendation is mainly tailored for mid-to-low rank Hunter players, selected based on their current meta performance and operation difficulty. After all, not every ranked match we join is against a professional four-man squad, nor do we run into top 1693 players every day. Everyone starts practicing from casual matches! So please take this guide rationally according to your own situation.

1. Hermit

The biggest headache for area-control Hunters is their weak chasing ability. Hunters like Joseph (a typical Melee Hunter) require extremely high game sense and skills to play well? Then you should definitely give Hermit a try!

Hermit remains a top-tier pick in the current meta—excelling at both area control and chasing. His Electric Network mechanic can effectively slow down the match pace, keeping Survivors under constant pressure. Coupled with the buff to the “Claustrophobia” Talent, his fault tolerance in the Gate Opening Phase has improved drastically. Hermit’s win rate is now quite extreme: once he’s not banned, the match is either a total crush or a total loss!

When guarding a hooked Survivor, he can easily drag out the “half-health rescue” window and finish off with Blink. Mid-to-low rank Survivors can barely counter this. Remember to ban Mechanic and Doctor in ranked matches to skyrocket your win rate. However, pay attention to the enemy lineup—bring Iron Body (Unbreakable Will) when facing OB Survivors like Forward!

Hermit is also a rank-climbing tool in high tiers, featuring high risk and high reward! If you do Inspiration top-ups on Velox to draw his exclusive Purple Quality Skin and bring it into matches, your gameplay feel will instantly max out! It’s recommended to watch Pro Players’ replays in the “Top Player Watch” feature to learn strategies—climbing ranks will be as easy as drinking water!

2. Wax Artist

Though Wax Artist isn’t very popular, his strength is definitely top-tier—undoubtedly a Tier 1 Hunter!

Unlike Spider, who has to accumulate webs for ages, Wax Artist’s Wax Oil regenerates insanely fast—it’s almost inexhaustible! Wax Oil not only restricts Survivors’ movement but also makes up for his weakness in ground chasing. Landing a full stack of Wax Oil followed by an Instant Down is super satisfying! After reaching Tier 2, he evolves into a dual-blade Hunter and can even seal Legacy Cipher Machines with wax.

Playing Wax Artist requires a bit of game sense: for example, try to hook the first Survivor near a Legacy Cipher Machine, and master the timing to switch to Hot Wax. He’s not recommended for large maps, as his area-control ability is limited. After Tier 2, use Hot Wax to intercept Survivors in time—you can easily get double downs when guarding hooks. His mechanic is simple and straightforward, making him a must-try for beginners!

3. Fool's Gold

Our “Lamb Roll” buddy has extremely low entry barriers—his skills are simple and direct, and his chasing & hook-guarding rhythm is quite similar to Wax Artist’s!

Fool's Gold performs well in the current meta. If the official optimizes the hitbox issue of his Pickaxe, he’ll become even stronger! Just bring skills based on the enemy lineup. His Pickaxe gives him great chasing ability, so he doesn’t fear Survivors trying to kite him. Once you hook a Survivor in the Basement, use the Collapse Area to block paths—doubling the difficulty for Survivors to rescue!

After Tier 2, he can also seal Legacy Cipher Machines and even play the ambush style to damage Survivors’ states. Currently, Velox has limited-time rebates for Inspiration top-ups—it’s the perfect time to get Fool's Gold’s new skin! Basically, you can start practicing in real matches after watching two tutorials.

In short, Fool's Gold may not be the strongest at hook-guarding, but his chasing ability far surpasses most hook-guarding Hunters. This unique balance makes him an excellent choice for rank climbing. Besides, Norton’s good looks—those who know, know!

4. Apostle

When it comes to high-strength Hunters most friendly to beginners, Apostle is definitely on the list!

First, her Cat mechanic is easy to understand—it’s all-round for control, chasing, and hook-guarding. Most importantly, she’s a true model of “easy to operate but strong”: you can learn her skills in just one minute, and she rarely gets stuck in a tough spot!

She fears OB Survivors in the early game, but you can bring Teleport, Blink, or Iron Body based on the lineup. After Tier 2, her hook-guarding ability becomes extremely strong, allowing her to easily disrupt the Survivors’ rhythm. While other Hunters are still struggling to catch anyone, Apostle has already secured a stable draw or even a win!

5. Easter Egg: The Mysterious “Hunter”

If none of the above four suits you, then we have to bring out the ultimate ace! This “Hunter” has an unparalleled presence—with more skins than you can wear. She can crush the entire match without bringing Iron Body, making all Hunters tremble in fear and being worshipped as a god by Survivors—it’s Antiquarian Qi Shiyi!

Just kidding! But which Hunter isn’t afraid of Antiquarian’s iconic three consecutive moves? Theoretically, she counters all Melee Hunters (ground-based Hunters)—so it’s no joke that she’s nicknamed the “Strongest Hunter” by players!

In Conclusion

Though these Hunters are relatively easy to get started with, you can’t encounter “fish pond matches” (matches with new players) every time. Hunters are inherently a high-difficulty faction in the 1v4 gameplay—even the simplest characters require practice. However, compared to complex Hunters like Opera Singer and Broken Wheel, the ones recommended today are definitely much more beginner-friendly! Go give them a try now~
