Need more Monochrome for Promeia, Lucia, Starlight - Billy, or future Version 3.0 banners? Check out VeloxGame Zenless Zone Zero Top Up page before the new update arrives. Whether you are preparing for an Ice Anomaly team, upgrading your Rupture lineup, or saving Polychromes for the next major meta shift, topping up early can help you avoid last-minute banner pressure.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 is a difficult patch for pull planning. It brings two new S-Rank Agents — Promeia, an Ice Anomaly carry, and Starlight - Billy, Billy Kid’s new S-Rank form — while also rerunning Lucia and Orphie & Magus. On paper, that sounds like a strong banner lineup. In practice, 2.8 arrives right before Version 3.0, which makes every pull much riskier.

For most players, the safest conclusion is simple: Lucia is the best pull in Version 2.8. Promeia is only worth considering for specific Anomaly accounts. Starlight - Billy and Orphie & Magus are mostly skip banners unless you already know exactly why you want them.

ZZZ 2.8 Banner Overview

Promeia Analysis: Strong Kit, Awkward Timing

Promeia is the headline new S-Rank of the first half of Version 2.8. As an Ice Anomaly Agent, she appears to follow the route of an on-field Anomaly carry, with strong Disorder-related damage, high personal output, and teamwide Anomaly support value.

The issue is not that Promeia looks weak. The issue is that her role directly overlaps with existing Anomaly teams, especially for players who already own Hoshimi Miyabi or Aria. With Miyabi still performing well and even receiving new attention in Version 2.8 through her outfit, Promeia enters the patch in an uncomfortable position. She is new, likely strong, and probably smooth to play — but she is not necessarily something most accounts need.

Her best team direction should be an Anomaly-focused lineup built around Nangong Yu and Ukinami Yuzuha. If you already pulled Nangong Yu but skipped Aria, and you do not have a high-investment Miyabi team, Promeia becomes much more attractive. In that situation, she may be one of the strongest Anomaly carries available in the late 2.x cycle.

However, if your account already has any reliable Anomaly DPS, Promeia becomes hard to justify. Pulling a new carry right before Version 3.0 is risky, especially when future characters may introduce new mechanics, new team systems, or better long-term value.

Should You Pull Promeia?

You can consider Promeia if you pulled Nangong Yu, skipped Aria, and do not have a strong Hoshimi Miyabi team. She is also reasonable if you simply need a modern Anomaly DPS and like her gameplay.

You should skip Promeia if you already have Aria, Miyabi, or any well-built Anomaly carry. For most players, this is not the best time to start another Anomaly team from zero.

Overall Recommendation: ★★☆☆☆

Verdict: Not recommended for most players.

Lucia Rerun Analysis: The Safest Pull in Version 2.8

Lucia is the strongest banner recommendation in Version 2.8. Unlike Promeia and Starlight - Billy, her value has already been tested. She is one of the most important support units for Rupture teams and remains a key piece for players who use Yixuan or Yidhari.

Before release, some players underestimated Lucia because her raw numerical comparison with Pan Yinhu did not look like a massive gap. But in real gameplay, Lucia’s value is much higher than a simple stat comparison suggests. She improves team flow, makes Rupture rotations feel smoother, and gives the archetype a more complete structure.

If you currently own Yixuan or Yidhari but skipped Lucia before, this rerun is still very valuable. She is also highly recommended if you plan to pull Starlight - Billy, because Billy’s new form appears to follow the Rupture DPS direction.

Lucia also has strong upgrade value. At 0+0, she is already useful and worth building. Her signature W-Engine and Mindscape 1 both offer meaningful improvements, especially for players who regularly use Rupture teams. You do not need to over-invest, but if you have the budget, Lucia’s early upgrades are among the more reasonable ones in this patch.

Should You Pull Lucia?

Pull Lucia if you have Yixuan, Yidhari, or plan to build around Starlight - Billy. She is the most practical and future-resistant pull in Version 2.8.

Skip her only if you already have a complete Rupture team or you are fully saving for Version 3.0 and do not need any immediate team upgrades.

Overall Recommendation: ★★★★☆

Verdict: Recommended.

Starlight - Billy Analysis: A Fan-Favorite Release in a Bad Banner Window

Starlight - Billy is one of the most exciting ideas in Version 2.8. Billy Kid finally gets a new S-Rank form, and longtime Cunning Hares fans will naturally want to pull him.

Unfortunately, from a pure account-value perspective, his timing is rough. He arrives in the second half of Version 2.8, which means players may already have more information about Version 3.0 banners, kits, and new mechanics by the time his banner is live. Pulling a new DPS right before a major version shift is always risky.

His role also creates overlap. If you already own Yixuan or Yidhari, Starlight - Billy may not offer enough new value to justify the cost. This is similar to the earlier problem with overlapping Rupture carries: even if the new character is strong, they may still be unnecessary for accounts that already have a complete team.

Billy’s biggest appeal is character preference. If you love Billy, like his new form, and want to main him regardless of meta timing, pulling him is understandable. But if you are asking for the most efficient Version 2.8 pull, he is not the answer.

Should You Pull Starlight - Billy?

Pull him if you are a Billy fan or specifically want to build a new Rupture DPS team around him.

Skip him if you already have Yixuan or Yidhari, do not have Lucia, or want to save for Version 3.0. For meta-focused players, Starlight - Billy is more of a luxury pull than a necessary upgrade.

Overall Recommendation: ★☆☆☆☆

Verdict: Skip unless you are pulling for character preference.

Orphie & Magus Rerun Analysis: Too Narrow for Most Accounts

Orphie & Magus are in an awkward position in the current meta. Their best use case is still tied closely to Soldier 0 - Anby, but Anby’s team value has fallen behind newer and stronger lineups.

The problem is not that Orphie & Magus are unusable. The problem is that their best team is too narrow. After newer options improved other teams, especially Electric and premium carry lineups, Anby-centered teams no longer feel like a priority investment for most players.

If you do not already own Soldier 0 - Anby, there is almost no reason to pull Orphie & Magus in Version 2.8. Even if you do own Anby, the pull only makes sense if your Anby is already highly invested, roughly around a 2+1 level or higher, and you specifically want to finish that team.

Should You Pull Orphie & Magus?

Only consider Orphie & Magus if you have a high-investment Soldier 0 - Anby and still lack them.

For everyone else, this is an easy skip. Their value is too team-specific, and Version 3.0 is too close to justify spending Polychromes on such a narrow rerun.

Overall Recommendation: ★☆☆☆☆

Verdict: Not recommended.

ZZZ 2.8 Pull Priority

Best Pull Plan for Different Players

If You Are a Newer Player

Newer players should be careful in Version 2.8. Unless Lucia directly completes your Rupture team, saving for Version 3.0 is probably safer. Starting a new Promeia or Starlight - Billy team this late in the 2.x cycle may not be the best use of Polychromes.

If You Have Yixuan or Yidhari

Lucia is the best pull in this patch. If you do not already have her, she should be your top priority. She gives Rupture teams the structure and comfort they need to perform well.

If You Have Hoshimi Miyabi or Aria

Skip Promeia. She may be strong, but she overlaps too much with your existing Anomaly investment. Unless you specifically like Promeia, your Polychromes are probably better saved for 3.0.

If You Are a Billy Fan

Starlight - Billy is a preference pull. If Billy is one of your favorite characters, go for him. Just do not treat him as the safest meta investment of Version 2.8.

If You Are Saving for Version 3.0

Skip most of 2.8. Lucia is the only exception if she completes a team you already use. Otherwise, saving is the smarter play.

Final Verdict: Version 2.8 Is Mostly a Save Patch

Zenless Zone Zero 2.8 looks exciting because it includes two new S-Rank Agents, but from a pull-planning perspective, it is not a must-spend patch.

Promeia is likely strong, but she overlaps with existing Anomaly carries like Hoshimi Miyabi and Aria. Starlight - Billy is stylish and exciting, but his release timing before Version 3.0 makes him risky. Orphie & Magus are too dependent on Soldier 0 - Anby to recommend broadly.

That leaves Lucia as the clear best pull in Version 2.8. If you use Yixuan, Yidhari, or plan to build around Starlight - Billy, Lucia is still worth getting. For everyone else, the most reasonable plan is to save Polychromes, watch the Version 3.0 previews, and avoid spending too much at the end of the 2.x era.
